One of the hardest exercises to coach 1-2-1 this is even more difficult to get right in a group exercise environment and that is why it is dedicated an entire section. Get prepared to make some notes


The hardest exercise to coach… and potentially one of the worst demonstrated across the fitness industry. One of the reasons being that they are not taught in depth enough or are taught with less than adequate teaching points. This is because the instructor doesn’t know what to say, or what exercises they should be performing in order to work synergistically with the RDL in order to get maximum performance. The majority of the time, the client needs to work on their hip hinge before loading it as well as improving their mid-back strength and ability to depress the scapula. Once this can be achieved at lower weights, the RDL is fundamental to our hamstring training in group ex.
